Forthcoming works relating to Bellways Development:

Sewer Connection: The Bellway development on Church Road has the right to connect to the 6” sewer running under the field at Foxden Drive open space and they intend to take possession of the site starting 12 -14 June and could be onsite for 4 weeks. I have met with their representatives and contractors to understand what the job entails.

They will access the work site through the play area gates with an excavator and dumper. Establish a large compound on the field and excavate to 6 metres depth to find the sewer. They will then use horizontal drilling techniques in the Bellway site to reach the deep pit and install the pipe. Once connected and tested the ground will be reinstated and restored to grass.

Ramped Connection from Bellway site to The Beams : Bellway have been given a licence by MBC Property to occupy the site to undertake their obligation to construct the ramped access and associated landscaping. Concerns were raised that undertaking such work during the bird nesting period would be problematic and has the potential to breach legislation designed to protect wildlife. They have access to their own ecological advice and we await an update when works will commence and the likely impact on the right of way . Their temporary fencing remains in position.
