Theft of Cars

There have been a couple of cars that have been stolen in Downswood recently and they have happened on a Sunday evening into Monday morning. We have been in contact with PC James Phillips about them and the following is his response.

Thank you for getting in touch. Apologies for the late response it has been very busy on my end.

Please reassure residents that I am aware and will be aiming to complete more regular patrols. In the meantime, the usual crime‑prevention steps are strongly advised, including:

• Ensuring vehicles are locked and windows fully closed
• Removing valuables from view
• Using steering locks or additional security devices where possible
• Reporting any suspicious behaviour or CCTV directly to us via 101 or online
