The Big Day Out

Celebrate Nature on June 14th – Join Us for Maidstone’s Big Day Out
On June 14th, the beauty of Maidstone’s natural landscape takes centre stage during Maidstone’s Big Day Out — a borough-wide celebration held in partnership with Maidstone CAN and supported by Maidstone Borough Council. This special day forms part of the national Great Big Green Week, encouraging communities to connect with and cherish the natural world around them.
Downswood Parish Council is proud to take part by inviting residents to explore one of the area's local gems — Spot Lane Nature Reserve. Two guided walks will take place through this biodiverse haven, one at 10:30am and another at 1:30pm, beginning at the reserve entrance on the junction with Deringwood Drive.
These walks will offer a deeper look at the rich wildlife that calls the reserve home and showcase the important conservation work planned over the next five years, in collaboration with Maidstone Borough Council and Natural England.
This is a free event, open to all nature lovers and curious minds — come along, breathe in the fresh air, and discover the quiet wonders of your local natural environment.
