Update on the Proposed Extension to Otham’s Conservation Area

Following the consultation held just after Christmas, Downswood Council would like to thank all residents who took the time to provide feedback to MBC on the proposed extension to Otham’s Conservation Area.

The Otham Conservation Area Assessment and Management Plan (CAAMP) is scheduled to be considered for adoption at the next Policy and Resources Committee (PHAC) meeting on 4 June. Subject to approval by Cabinet members, formal adoption is expected by the end of June.

Of the 156 responses received during the consultation, only two objections were submitted, indicating strong overall support for the proposal. As such, it is anticipated that the extension will proceed as planned.

Once approved, the revised conservation area boundaries will be communicated directly to all affected property owners via letter. In addition, the changes will be published in the London Gazette, Kent Online, and updated on the Council’s consultation website.
