Family Festive Fun

What a truly magical evening we shared at the Downswood Parish Council Festive Family Party! Our heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful residents of Downswood, whose warmth and enthusiasm made the celebration such a joyous occasion.

The venue was superb, the atmosphere alive with laughter and cheer, and the food was simply delicious. A special thank you goes to The Orchard, whose tireless efforts created such a welcoming and festive setting. And of course, the highlight of the evening—seeing the children’s faces light up with delight as they met Father Christmas—was a moment to treasure.

We are also deeply grateful to Bellway, whose generous donation of £500 helped make this event possible. Their support is a shining example of community partnership at its best.

Adding to the magic, we were enchanted by the beautiful carols sung by the Energize Community Choir, which filled the hall with festive spirit. Giggles and amazement followed thanks to Lord Geoffrey, The Balloon Guy, whose creations brought endless joy, while the talented Tiny Tots Face Painters transformed little ones into sparkling reindeer, snowflakes, and festive stars.

In the spirit of giving, we were proud once again to support the Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter project, whose invaluable work provides comfort and hope to those facing homelessness during the coldest months of the year.

It was, in every sense, a fantastic evening—one that set the perfect tone for the run‑up to Christmas, also shared by our Borough Councillors. May the joy we shared continue to brighten our community throughout the festive season.
