Church Rd Closure from 16 Sept (Approx 4 weeks)

Church Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the junction with the old alignment of Church Road from 16 September, for around four weeks. Access to Church House will be maintained, but vehicles will have to approach on Church Road from the south.

During that same period, KM86 to the west of Church Road (from The Beams) will be will be largely unaffected. Access to KM86 from Church Road on its eastern side, towards the junction with KM80 will be closed as will the unofficial path that links KM88 to KM86, as part of that will be affected by the works. However it is very likely that local walkers will follow a parallel route in the field, avoiding the works area, to link KM88 and KM86.

Clancy has confirmed some details.

They will be installing some new water apparatus underground in the old road entrance, roughly behind the green bin in the image below, up to 8 metres into the old road.

The footpath entrances to the left hand side of the image above should remain open, and the entrance to Church House will remain open and unaffected too. However the residents of Church House will of course only be able to drive southbound down Church Road.

Pedestrians should be able to take a route like the red line below to get from Deringwood Drive to St Nicholas Church.
